AAPC's official COVID-19 Statement
As we move ahead with planning and implementing the programming of HEALTHCON 2022, AAPC will continue to place high importance on facilitating measures that will ensure optimal health and sanitary conditions for everyone onsite during the event.
For those who don’t feel comfortable traveling onsite or have state travel restrictions in place we are providing a virtual experience for HEALTHCON.
If you are planning to attend in-person and this is your first big gathering since the onset of the Coronavirus, the first hour will probably be exciting but also, a bit awkward. You may also feel a little distant from fellow attendees. You may want to give a colleague you haven’t seen in years a big hug or sit closer together during the sessions. These are instincts we all have, but you will be encouraged to refrain from any close contact throughout the conference.
Event organizers will adhere to local mandates as well as Events Industry Council and U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommendations. Our precautions will stay in effect until it is no longer recommended to be a necessity for large gathering. Here are the precautions we are taking for your health and safety:
On-site temperature monitoring
- Mandatory temperature checks will happen each day before entering the event. You will be given a different color wrist band for each day as clearance. If a temperature is indicated, you will kindly be asked to quarantine in your room and log onto our virtual online experience.
No Onsite Registration
Conference bags with registration information will be mailed ahead of arrival to limit on-site queuing. Please be sure to pack these items with you as there will NOT be onsite registration. Your bag will include:
- Conference Program Booklet: Listing out details of the event.
- Name badge and lanyard (For onsite registrants only)
- Mask: AAPC will provide you with face mask, the CDC recommends you change your mask daily. You are welcome to bring your own mask or face shield, as they will be required during sessions.
- Personal-sized hand sanitizer will be provided by AAPC. Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the meeting space.
- Conference t shirt – please be sure to indicate your shirt size when registering.
In partnership with the Gaylord National, we will be providing:
- Responsibly handled seating to accommodate social distancing, food and beverage service by attendant only to avoid contact, and continuous sanitation of meeting spaces.
- Appropriate signage and floor decals to reinforce social distancing and other safety reminders.
Personal Accountability Commitment

This includes, but is not limited to, submitting to daily temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times in public areas, engaging in appropriate physical distancing and not attending the event if you are ill or have been recently exposed to COVID-19.
